Cinematic Engagement Photos at Oriental Theatre in Milwaukee

When Chloe and Jack reached out about taking their engagement photos at the Oriental Theater in Milwaukee, I was so excited. I’d wanted to photograph a couple there for a long time, and I loved that they came to me with this idea.

We went to the movies and ended up making a little movie of our own—with Chloe and Jack as the main characters.

An Engagement Session Inspired by the Movies

The theater gave us the perfect setting for something romantic, playful, and a little dramatic. I approached the session as a series of scenes, mixing candid moments with more intentional, cinematic portraits.

My favorite part was finding that balance: creating movie-like photographs while leaving room for their expressions, laughter, and the way they interacted with each other. The setting was a big part of the story, but Chloe and Jack were always the focus.

Their Oriental Theater engagement session brought together everything I’d been excited to explore in this location: romance, personality, and a little movie magic.
